The Language with the Most Sounds

According to the New York Times the most sounds in a single language is found in Africa with the Taa language. The Taa language, spoken by a few thousand people in Botswana and Nambia, is interesting in that clicks are a main part of the language.  According to some scholars it is the inclusion of clicks that allows for one syllable words in the Taa language to convey what would take 3 or 4 syllables in English. There are 5 major click sounds in the Taa language, part of the larger Khoisan language group, and fittingly for the language with the most sounds there are many words to describe sounds in the language.
