Winter Term at Oberlin is usually a very quiet place, but over at the studios of Oberlin’s own WOBC (91.5 on your FM dial) there are amazing, wonderful, creative radio programs being broadcast over their (now improved!) antenna via the radio airwaves and online
While WT programming is only for the next couple of weeks please take a look at their show schedule (click on the show names for a description) and tune in often at http://wobc.org/listen. The station is broadcasting this month from 8 a.m. – 11p.m. M-F, 12p.m.-10 p.m. Saturdays and 12.p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
SPEAKING OF SUNDAYS: Along with my awesome colleague Marcelo Vinces we will be broadcasting Radio Ambulante: Oberlin on Sundays from 4-5 p.m. Our show will feature the awesome Spanish language storytelling of Radio Ambulante, along with music, news and commentary provided by the two of us.
Join us this Sunday (1/18) for “Cuando la Habana era friki” and “Los punketos” …stories from Cuba and Mexico about metal, punk and finding/making /sustaining communities through music.
