Merriam-Webster

Merriam-Webster is perhaps the best known English-Language dictionary. Founded in the 1840s when the Merriam brothers bought the Webster dictionary, it is the longest running dictionary publisher in America. Like many publishing companies it has been struggling due to the internet and the wide availability of online resources so they have adapted like many other companies, social media. Releasing videos and articles Merriam-Webster has become popular through social media, using videos such as “Ask the Editor” to speak about word issues as well as political. Despite the massive online resources available, some old companies are still doing well.
