I spent last semester in Córdoba, Spain with Oberlin’s PRESHCO (PRograma de EStudios Hispanicos en COrdoba) program. It was a great experience– the priorities in Spain are much different than the priorities at Oberlin. I really enjoyed the Spanish culture’s attention to leisure– the general philosophy is that if you truly enjoy the good times (especially with friends), then you’re more productive during the times when you have to do work. My Spanish also improved a lot, and I am now able to talk with my fellow residents at La Casa Hispánica and welcome people to the CILC in Spanish! Spanish is a great language to learn, and I highly recommend Oberlin’s PRESHCO program to do it. For more information about the program, you can visit the PRESHCO page here.
