well, independency is a difficult question!!
I am from País Vasco (basque country) I've grown up here and I'm very proud of that, of our traditions, language and so on. But I also feel spanish. (and I don't feel my region is better than any other part of the world). So I don't feel that urge for independency, I don't need it. Besides, in these days when all countries are coming closer, like the European Union, I think it's a bit sad to be separating us from the rest.
As to if I think independency would be good or bad, I don't know! =) I'm not an economy expert but some experts say the economy would fall because of the lack of investors, others say it would rise because investors wouldn't move from here and we wouldn't pay taxes to the central spanish government anymore. Others just say that the Soccer Leage would be very boring! haha. Some think many people would feel they don't belong and would leave Pais Vasco to live somewhere else in Spain. Certainly independency would change many things :) !
To be honest this doesn't worry me that much right now, I respect all opinions, and I just wait and see how everything turns out. Peace is the most important thing for me, and at the moment we're all hopeful here because of the "permanent cease fire" E.T.A declared some weeks ago. That's always good news.
So that's about it more or less! Hope this was of some use. If you ask someone else, probably you'll get a different view because there's plenty of different opinions about this.
