How to Record Skype Conversations (on a PC)

ALWAYS do a short test recording before so that you don’t miss an amazing conversation!

1. Log into one of the designated lab PCs with the username and password assigned to you. (Remember to check the Workstation Only box!)

2. Sign into Skype and check your sound settings.

3. From the desktop, double-click on the Hot Recorder icon, and when you're ready to record, hit the Record button.

4. Note: You can use the “Pause” button if you want to momentarily stop recording, but be sure to hit the Stop button when you're finished.

5. The file will be automatically saved in the HotRecordings folder on the desktop; to convert it, open the Audio Converter program from the desktop.

6. Click the magnifying glass and find your file. Make sure the mp3 button is selected, and click convert.

7. Once the file is converted, you can edit it using Audacity (available on all lab Macs).

7. When you're done, change the name so that is not a string of numbers. Do not use ANY special characters or spaces. This will make it easier to upload.
