Y pienso que, cuando vas a traduccir un text que es originalmente en ingles, vas a tener que cambiar unas frases y palabras (su orden y, quizás, su significancia) para que todo “makes sense.”

Que bueno! Me gusta su idea mucha. Pasas mucho tiempo con forensics, hizas/participas en forensics en colegio? Yo nunca oyo de forensics antes de tu. Yo participe en “mock trial” en el colegio, y pienso es un poco similar a forensics. Fue muy dificil y me impresiono mucho que tu participas en forensics. La pregunta sobre las intenciones del escritor es muy importante. Una manera optimista a ver las traducciones es mas personas pueden aprender sobre cosas diferentes.

HOla NAtalia – I just went onyour blog – I will be helped Senor Amstutz adjudicate your forensic presetation on May 8. I have been a 4 time State Qualifier in the OHSSL Forensics competition and have competed in prose/poetry and humorous interp and duo interp. I am also a 5th year Spanish student taking an Independent study course in 20th century Spanish Peninsular Theatre specializing in Lorca, Buero Vallejo and Sastre. My suggestions for working with Historia de una Escalera with your duo partner in the target language include:
1.If you are doing the Urbano and Carmina scene in Act II where he declares his love, I suggest for Urbano to use dramatic pause to create tension. Everytime Urabno starts to speak , he should close the distance between them physically. Her reaction should be to force herself to pull away. Why? to show that she will not fall into a trap – the situation has to be strange and awkward – she shouldnot give way to her emotions.

Facials: Everything in this scene is in the eyes. Hers should be understanidng, but hurt – remember, she is dealing with a recent death and an uncertain future. His – show desperation yet a glimmer of hope mixed with passion.
Gestures: Her gesstures are small and perfunctory. His should be over-dramatized- big, overdone- remember, he is just a common worker – there is not finesse to his character, even though he has a kind heart.
