I actually have never played this piece, but it is very pretty and i liked it a lot.It is a wonderful collection of beautiful images. Each image is inspired from paintings. The composer used to have a a friend that was a painter.I think it is very nice when someone gets inspired from paintings because paintings have colors.Music also is about colors and i think if someone thinks a musical piece with colors he can make very very it impressive and beautiful.Because if we think with colors we can probably express whatever we feel much easier. Also the feeling of the emotions is going to be very strong. I loved the musical ideas and how they are all blended together. The piece feels like it is a story that develops until the piece is over. This piece has 6 movements, the composer uses many nationalistic features in his music in general and his music is very exciting.
I think that this piece is very beautiful and very playful,it must be so much fun performing it and working on it.I think that someone can learn a lot of things.I really liked it,i also liked the rhythmical motives that the composer uses and the harmonies.
I loved it..!! :) :) :)

I really enjoyed listening to this music. I think it is a beautiful piece with many special moments. It is a comic opera with 4 main characters, I loved the ideas that Strauss has in this piece,i think that it is very unique and has many styles in it.
The music remind it me something of hollywood style glamour.and i think i felt that especially in Don Juan and in Der Rosenkavalier. Many great and blended harmonies.
I really enjoyed it. :) :)

I really loved this piece,it is so peaceful and so pretty. I really really liked it,the oboe solo was very beautiful. This piece is based on a poem .Wagner’s Parsifal begun in 1857 but was not finished until the year 1882.The accompaniment of the instruments is very vivid, and the lower instruments provide a very good base during the whole piece. There are a lot of diminished chords that give a special sense into the piece and also the orchestra is very precise with the harmonic rhythm and this gives a special atmosphere.
I really liked it,and it must be amazing and spectacular watching something like that.

MENDELSSOHN Fanny Trio

March 20th, 2011 by Dorothea Chatzigeorgiou · Uncategorized

I loved the piece,i thought that it was very classic and very beautiful. Her Piano Trio dates from 1846 and was completed shortly before her death. In four movements, the opening Allegro molto vivace, begins with a flowing, restless accompaniment in the piano over which a beautiful, broad melody of yearning is sung by the strings. The pretty second movement, Andante espressivo, though very romantic, is introspective and reflective in mood. Fanny subtitled the third movement Lied (song in German) and indeed this lovely little Allegretto is a charming Song Without Words of the sort Felix made famous. The finale, Allegro moderato, has a lengthy piano introduction before the strings finally join in. The somewhat heavy, Hungarian-sounding theme has a sad but not quite tragic aura to it. Cross rhythms and a the second theme serve to lighten it.
It a very beautiflu piece. :) :) :)

Rossini’s La cerentola :)

March 6th, 2011 by Dorothea Chatzigeorgiou · Uncategorized

I think that this overture is very beautiful.it very powerful. It includes recycled materials from other Rossini’s operas. It a happy piece. The overture falls into the usual Rossini shape with a slow introduction followed by a little symphonic Allegro that lacks a development section. But it is loaded with local surprises, including an extended “Rossini crescendo” that serves as the closing theme of the three introduced in the exposition, an opening theme that proceeds stagily in fits and starts, and a delightful turn on the piccolo in the recapitulation of the second theme. I really really liked it :) I think that the instruments are making really amazing harmonies and they create a very unique atmosphere.
I really liked it for one more time :) :)

I really liked this piece,i loved how the melodies are blended
and how Schubert is making this atmosphere with the harmonies.I think that this piece is one of the best, from the pieces that Schubert has composed. The piece is known as the Trout because the fourth movement is a set of variations on Schubert’s earlier Lied “Die Forelle.
I really really liked it and i think that it is a very good piece and that we can learn a lot of things and develop our musical personality.

Beethoven Missa Solemnis.

February 21st, 2011 by Dorothea Chatzigeorgiou · Uncategorized

This is a beautiful piece,i really liked it.I think that it very emotional. It is full of power and strength. They way the voices are blended is amazing. It reminds me of an event that is happening. Unquestionably a great work, representing Beethoven at the height of his powers, it has notably failed to reach the popularity of many of the symphonies and sonatas. It a very unique piece that it’s worthy of working on it and performing it.it is Beethoven’s second setting of the mass, after his Mass in C, Op. 86, a work far less admired. Also the style that the piece is written on is really romantic, that shows us how Beethoven was using the themes of the Romantic plot.
I really loved it. :)
