Uncle Scrooge (U.S.) and foreign relations

I never would’ve thought that the uncle of loveable Huey, Dewey, and Louie represented the ugly face of American greed. What I mean to say is that I know that Uncle Scrooge represented greed as far as his love for money and gold went, but as a child it never really hit me that he always seemed to be pinned against a foreign enemy trying to steal/keep him from that money. It really makes me want to go back to all of the old cartoons that most of us watched in our childhood to look for other hidden themes and agendas. Here’s a little Duck Tales sample pitting “El Capitan” against Uncle Scrooge:
