July 1976

Dear Diary,

It has been a few years since my last post. I have been very busy in my time off, as has the triumphant military junta led by Augusto Pinochet. Since Pinochet’s miraculous military overthrow of the traitorous Allende, the government has done a phenomenal job at quieting the subversives and bringing about economic progress. When the military junta took control of the state that Allende was tearing down, we were suffering from an extreme inflation rate that was affecting our country all the way down to its core. Since then, thanks to Pinochet’s choice of capable economic advisors who were taught at the worlds finest institutions, the inflation rate has dropped dramatically and our great nation seems to be finding its way once again.

As for myself, shortly after the military coup back in 1973, I was able to my focus passion for our new government into a small pamphlet that I now release weekly. For the most part I have found myself extolling the choices of the military junta. However, my pamphlet does its best to remain biased towards the events that happen throughout Chile. For the most part, however, due to our government’s successes, I have found very little to complain about.

I hope that the next time I come back to write in this diary things will be going just as well as they are now.

Until next time.

Hi, Pablo. I’d love to see a copy of your pamphlet. Do you think I could buy a copy in the bookstores? I’ll have to look for it. But does it pay your way? I’d love to do something like that, but worry that I wouldn’t be able to support my wife and family. What about you? How do you do it?
